Ferry, ice creams, and beach paddling with Dawn and Amy in Manly...
...work I made for the "Once Upon" show (the reason why I was in Sydney in the first place)...
The opening was great fun, I met soooooo many bloggers and artists. Including Caitlin Shearer who I had been rather excited about meeting in real life for the first time. She is glamourous.
Other highlights included eating dragon beard candy in China Town (I hadn't consumed high fructose corn syrup since I was in the States, so that was fun), meeting people who incomprehensibly didn't like cats (not judging you, just don't understand it at all), being poor since I lost my bankcard in Adelaide (have it back now, yay) and dragging myself through the city in the hottest weather since The Badlands.
p.s. yes also ALL of the pieces I made for the art show were sold! This means I can get Tim more christmas presents. Ok maybe I will get some nice things for Mummy too. Ok and Dad.

hi sarah.
it was really very lovely to meet you too, although i hope it wasn't too awkward because i don't like awkwardness one bit! and perhaps i induce it, because i say silly things and speak louder than usual when nervous, and meeting you (being on of my most favourite artists, like, ever) was no exception. apologies!
i'm wondering if you'd appreciate a little art swap?
but i understand if you are busy off doing other awesome arty things and don't have the time! but it would be nice.

Hi Maddy!
Yes to trade, but maybe can you wait until the start of February and ask my again? I'm a bit too busy with work at present to be able to spend time on a new drawing but in February I should be moved into a new house and have a cup of hibiscus tea in front of me and be ready for fun drawing times.
I'm usually awkward anyway... it is my blessing and my curse.
from Sarah
Hi Sarah, thanks for dropping by my blog and saying hello. It was great to meet you in Sydney too! Your pieces for Once Upon were beautiful as always. I hope you settle into life in New Zealand well, and I'm sure i'll run into you again at future exhibitions. Take care, Ben.
Fun ice cream times! : ) I can't wait for you to move. Sounds so nice to finally have your own home with nice art! I dream of one myself everyday! Haha.. A house with a red roof, a small front porch and little lawn area so I can grow vegetables and have a little dog. Maybe in 3 years' time. Haha
love these pieces! especially the second & third :)
dear sarah,
that sounds exciting! new houses are wonderful! to decorate and explore and be somewhere new! and i'll gladly wait until you are all cosy and settled down and dont have so much work on your hands! no rush!
until then, take care, dont stress too much :)
