Hello 2009.
Moved into my new place in Toronto... snow everywhere, wooden floorboards, nice cats, lovely kitchen, pretty much my dream home.
Working on a large drawing for a rather exciting/nice project (more on that soon).
Lets see... oh I have just re-stocked at Moose (great online shop run from Perth in Australia) with some more prints (including the last of my animal portrait series!!!!) and this drawing (not a print):
Last thing before I get back to work, I made the most amazing noodle dinner last night (after discovering chinatown in Toronto) and must share it...
Ingredients are:
2 servings of soba noodles
1 cup snow peas
6 sliced shitake mushrooms
4 cloves of garlic (finely chopped) (or less if you are not so crazy about garlic as I am)
100 grams tofu cut into small cubes
Sauce:
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
3 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 teaspoons of maple syrup (well I am in Canada after all)
1/2 a lime
3 spring onions
lots of chopped ginger
Chop very finely the green parts of the spring onions, and leave the white parts aside (cut into bigger pieces) mix all the other sauce things together including the green spring onion parts. Add the tofu to this mixture.
Fry the mushrooms and the rest of the onions. Just before you are finished cooking, add the garlic and cook for a little bit longer. Leave aside to cool.
Now... cook the noodles for about 6 minutes, add the snow peas into the hot water for 2 minutes, then drain and put both into icy cold water. When they are really cold, drain them, and mix all the ingredients together. Now eat them. Yummy.
Oh and one more thing...
Tim recently found a really great radio show called "Radiolab". Lots of fun sciencey things and jokes. Have a listen.
