Week in review...

I keep on feeling like writing something but then I do and it seems kind of blank so I erase it. Been doing lots of things this week, extreme amounts of knitting, making new and pretty things, hopefully I will get some nice photos of my knitteds on the weekend.

REALLY have to take a break from all of my "work" soon and start making real art again, like before when drawing becomes this emotional and important feeling, not just a doing. I mean I still feel it now but there is always the thing in the back of my mind whispering "...hey Sarah, you know you have to get this done soon right? It is your work"

anyway, back to the long furry strings and clicky sticks I guess.

P.S. Also thankyou to everyone who noticed my feature in Frankie magazine this week and said nice things. It was super good to be in it and draw the poster too (see below, I showed a sneak of it a few weeks ago actually) although I was a little concerned that the title they used for my interview was "Pretty on the Inside", don't quite know what they were trying to say, but oh well!

The whole thing...

Real quick

Ok, just something real quick before I start doing some more of the work I have been procrastinating about for ages. A few weeks ago I bought the most beautiful drawing in the whole world from Anja Louise Verdugo, otherwise known as Clever Nettle. For now she sits on my desk and overlooks my daily coffee drinking and "work", but when I have a for real home I will frame her and keep her in my little kitchen to look over the thyme that I will grow on my windowsill.

And a few more...

A few more new prints in my etsy shop. Going hardcore on the prints at the moment. Well as hardcore as one can get when they are drawing nice little pictures and then walking over to the print shop and talking to the nice man there.

Felted tepees and cups of tea

Wonderful happy things made by Amy Borrell, designer/illustrator/artist from Melbourne. She just set up a lovely new online shop where you can get these lovelies, here it is.

In other news... the Love & Rummage show at the Workroom was so so so much fun. More on that later.

Something

The sole post from the blog about things that I like that I was going to start and then decided that I will just write things here...
Ashley-G-porcelin-brooch
These porcelain artworks from Ashley Goldberg are so nice. I want to get one to wear as a pendant but I can't decide between lavender and teal. She also has heaps of prints and art too.

Rummage

Please come to the "Love & Rummage Trunk Show" tomorrow! It's going to be at the Workroom, that's at 1340 Queen Street West, Toronto (click on the link if you want more info).

I will be there, along with 13 other lovely makers of nice things (including "Mr Skona", the maker of my most perfect amazing favourite grey woolen scarf)

See you tomorrow I suppose!

So...

In other news, I just reduced the prices of a whole lot of things in my etsy shop. Im not sure for how long the prices will be at that level, but I don't want my things to be too expensive that no one can afford them in this time of poorness is all.

Going to begin re-learning French this afternoon for when I go to Monteal.

You've probably seen this already, but I just saw it yesterday and I find it amusing....

New Things...

Yesterday I dyed my hair a strange orange colour after walking past someone's shed where "Smells like teen spirit" was blaring out from. I can't help but wonder if somehow these two incidents are related to each other.

In other news... some I have made lots of recent additions to my etsy shop of late,
eh-hem...

Item number one...
He controls your kitties...

Item number two...
White Cat

Number three...

freckleface

Been listening to "The Skeptics Guide to the Universe" podcast. Kind of strange/funny/science etc. I don't know how good it is for my creativity though...

I have more things to say but I think I will blog again tonight.

Coconut Chutney

Thanks to everyone who came to the art market at Katherine Mulherin Gallery on Saturday (and Sunday as well). Man, those samosas with coconut chutney were so good...

I traded for some super nice buttons made from security envelopes (insert photo here) (in the mean time, have a look at the buttons here) made by Becky from Sweetie Pie Press, and she also mentioned my things on her blog (buttons and blogging? what an excellent trade!)
