Garage Sale

So I haven't quite finished making the flyer for my show at Brunswick Bound yet, but here is something different but not entirely. This weekend coming up we are having a garage sale at my new place is Preston. There will be lots of nice things, and this includes artwork and crafts that I have made. We are also giving haircuts for $5 and having a vegan bake sale. Plus there will be lots of other things too.

Come and have a chat to me and my friends and enjoy the goodness of nice people and give me money for my things so that I can put it towards my journey to Canada.

Oh internet, I miss you so much.

I hope that I can set it up soon at my new place, I'm going crazy having to find it where I can get it, which usually involves exorbitantly priced coffees and crowded places. Getting things ready for my first ever solo show on the 16th of August, rather excited about this, will have the flyers done (hopefully) by the end of this week. Also thinking of making my blog a little less dry and impersonal. Maybe.

More drawings soon!

They are not animals anymore.

I did this drawing of the ghosts of arctic hunters. They don't need to eat, so I guess they just look at each other forever. Usually I suppose the polar bear will catch a seal and the fox will eat the scraps, or the fox will catch a rabbit and the polar bear is hungry so chases the fox away. But now they don't need to do that so they just look.

I've done another drawing called "The Ghosts of Your Enemies Are your Friends" that is similar to this one but it is a regular fox not an arctic one and a white rabbit. They are not enemies anymore as is suggested, but I am not quite sure that they are the best of friends. There is a very strong bond between them though. The strongest. When I get that drawing back from the exhibition it is in right now I will post it on my flickr I suppose.

More & More (things I drew lately that I thought I would post because I went through this time when I didn't post anything for a while.

Aha! All of my animal series is now sold. But you can still look at their loveliness.

Sand Cat - He is awesome too. He looks like a kitten but is is actually full grown he is just really small because he lives in the desert and wants to conserve his energy. (Sold already)

B & W & Shades of Grey

See the world in black and white? Come to the Black and White and Shades of Grey exhibition opening this Thursday (10th of July) at Pigment Gallery (Level 2, Nicholas Building, 37 Swanston Street). I will have a few pieces in the show for you to see (new ones of course) and there will be lots and lots of other artworks there. Last time it was rather fun, I really like when the room is absolutely packed with art.

Oh, opens at 5:30 til 8pm by the way.

On the Exhibition Blog

I've just begun posting all of the artwork that was not sold on Saturday night's "Lines on Paper and Other Things" exhibition on the blog that was created for the show. So if you missed out on going, or you were tossing and turning over whether you wanted to buy an artwork, you have another chance to buy it (if it is not sold already that is). The art work will only be for sale on the site for a short amount of time, then the site will be put to sleep until the next show.

To the artists: I will tell you if any of your artworks have sold and give you the details of who bought it (so you can send it to them) and also the money that they paid for it accordingly.

Oh and I will post the art of mine which didn't sell there and here. Because I can. Ha.

Zine launched with the "Lines on Paper & Other Things" exhibition last week. Limited edition of 200. Hand photocopied, hand cut (well we did use knives too), hand folded, hand stiched, hand glued.

The artists featured are all (kinda) from Australia and they are all wonderful people:
Georgia Harris
Oliver Hunter
Alana Kingston
Sean Morris (whose drawing is on the cover, which by the way I bought because it is such an amazingly good drawing)
Maara Serwylo
Carmel Seymour
Bhavani Stoddart
Eveline Tarunadjaja

Featured on Craftzine

Should be writing about how well that the show went last night (my apologies for my over-consumption of alcohol... I haven't had time to relax in ages so I relaxed a little too much I think) but more about that later. Wanted to tell you that my diorama (photography by Tim Anderson) that was made for the latest issue of "Voiceworks" magazine was featured on the Craftzine blog. Thanks guys.

Twenty Minutes

Twenty minutes until the exhibition starts! I am so excited. Everything is wonderful and clean and bright (we got light-bulbs in our place especially for the show, usually we just use lamps). Hooray! And the ziney bookey things turned out really good also. Photos from the show soon I suppose.

P.S.- Yay!

Everyones work is almost all hung up and it looks so amazingly good. Whenever I walk into the other room I smile smile smile.
